Nolita La Vita

There's a corner in Nolita where the afternoon sun hits the buildings just so, and for about twenty minutes the whole block turns to gold. This photograph caught one of those minutes — sun-washed brick, a striped awning, fire escapes drawing lines across the sky. All warm ambers and soft shadows. We love it in a living room or an entryway, where it brings that downtown electricity indoors. The 12×18 is perfect for a hallway; the 20×30 makes a sun-drenched statement above a sofa.
